How to read the numbers

Rating is the live Google star average. Review volume shows how many customers have rated each business. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.9 from hundreds counts for more than a 5.0 from a smaller group. Recency shows how recently customers are still posting reviews.

What affects mold remediation pricing

Cost depends on how much area is affected, what material it has spread into (drywall, ceilings, cabinets), whether the moisture source is fixed, and whether testing is done before and after. Testing and removal are separate services, and some companies offer only one. No prices are published here.

Where these companies work

Green Genie LLC and Paul Davis Restoration of Greater Buffalo NY are in Tonawanda. Ahold of Mold Environmental names Buffalo, Kenmore and Erie County, and Environmental Air Solutions lists Buffalo and Orchard Park on its site. Searching for mold removal near me in Buffalo? Each listing has a phone number so you can confirm coverage and availability.

What to ask before mold work begins

  • Do you test for mold, remove it, or both?
  • What will the written scope say about where mold is, and what gets removed?
  • Will the moisture source be identified and fixed before or after the work?
  • Will any testing happen after the work, and who does it?
  • What certifications or licenses do the technicians hold?
  • Is a smaller or minor area something I could safely handle myself?

Frequently asked questions

Is mold testing different from mold removal?

Yes. Environmental Air Solutions’ reviews describe inspections, air and surface samples and written reports. Green Genie LLC and Ahold of Mold Environmental describe removal and remediation work. Ask each company which of the two it provides.

Do I always need to pay for mold removal?

Not necessarily. One Green Genie LLC reviewer says the inspector told them a minor mold problem was safe to fix on their own. An assessment first can show whether professional work is needed.

Which of these companies also handle water damage?

Green Genie LLC, Ahold of Mold Environmental, SERVPRO of Central Buffalo and Paul Davis Restoration of Greater Buffalo NY all list water damage restoration, and their reviews describe flood or leak jobs.

What does mold remediation involve according to reviewers?

Reviewers of Ahold of Mold Environmental describe removing affected drywall and cabinets, applying an antimicrobial treatment and sealing the surface. SERVPRO of Central Buffalo reviewers mention drying with fans. Steps vary by job, so get the plan in writing.

Choosing a mold company

Green Genie LLC is a sensible first call for mold remediation on review depth, and Ahold of Mold Environmental is the other remediation-first name. If you are unsure how serious the problem is, start with Environmental Air Solutions for an inspection. Get the scope in writing before any work.
