HomeSense leads this list of mattress stores in Toronto on raw review count, with 1,095 Google reviews at 4.4 stars for its Yonge St location. That volume comes from a general home goods store, not a mattress specialist. DOZY on Queen St W and Sleep Masters Canada in North York, each with more than 300 reviews, share the highest rating on this page at 4.8, the number worth weighing if a dedicated mattress shop matters more to you than sheer size.

Short answer: HomeSense tops this list by volume, a 4.4-star rating across 1,095 reviews for its Yonge St home goods store, though it's a general retailer with a bedding section rather than a mattress specialist. If you want a dedicated mattress shop, DOZY on Queen St W and Sleep Masters Canada in North York share the top rating at 4.8 stars: DOZY for its Toronto-made mattresses, with next-day delivery a recurring theme in customer reviews, and Sleep Masters for five major brands to try side by side with free delivery across the GTA.

HomeSense

4.41,095 Google reviews

HomeSense is a home goods and furniture chain with a downtown Toronto location on Yonge St, selling everything from kitchenware to bedding and furniture across two floors. It's not a mattress specialist, more a general retailer that happens to carry bedding, so treat it as a starting point for basics rather than a serious mattress shopping trip.

What people praise

  • Frequent turnover of well-priced home decor and kitchenware finds
  • Clean, bright layout that's easy to browse across two floors
  • Reasonable prices for the quality on most items
  • Good seasonal selection depending on time of year

Worth knowing

  • A few shoppers describe inconsistent service from certain staff members
  • Smaller floor space than a dedicated furniture or mattress store

Our take: Ranks first here on sheer scale, the highest review volume in this list. It's the safe default for general home goods, but not the pick if you actually want mattress expertise.

Our take: Sleep Masters is the store to visit when you want to lie on several mattresses before you choose and have someone help you narrow it down. It holds a 4.8 rating from more than 300 Google reviews, and customers name the owner, Ali, again and again: one couple tried and re-tried king mattresses with him for as long as they needed without feeling pushed, another found a mattress that fit both their needs and their budget, and one buyer who was unhappy with a king after two weeks had it exchanged for another. Reviewers also describe a call from Ali before delivery and a delivery crew that arrived on schedule. Visit the North York showroom or start with the Mattress Selector online.

Watch: 5 Best Mattress Stores in Toronto (2026)

How we rank these stores

Rating is the live Google average. Review volume measures how many customers actually rated the business, weighed against the others in this search. Confidence combines the two, so a 5.0 from a handful of reviews scores lower than a 4.4 from over a thousand. Recency tracks how recently people are still leaving reviews. No store can pay to change any of these numbers.

What does a mattress cost in Toronto?

Mattress prices move with size, materials (foam versus hybrid versus innerspring), firmness and brand, plus whether delivery and old-mattress removal are included. Locally made options can sometimes undercut big chains on a comparable spec, but the only reliable way to know is to compare a written quote from each store for the exact size and firmness you want.

Mattress shopping across Toronto

These stores are spread from downtown’s Yonge and Queen corridors and Cabbagetown up to Caledonia Rd in North York, so a search for a mattress store near me in central Toronto should turn up at least one within a short drive or transit ride.

What to ask before you buy a mattress

  • What’s the trial period, and can I return or exchange if the firmness is wrong?
  • Is delivery included, and will you remove my old mattress?
  • What’s the warranty length, and what does it actually cover?
  • Is the mattress made locally or imported, and does that affect lead time?
  • Do you offer financing or installment payments?
  • Can I try before I buy, or is this an online-only purchase?

Frequently asked questions

Is a firmer or softer mattress better?

It depends on your sleep position and any back or joint issues, there’s no single right answer. Most stores in this list will let you discuss firmness with staff before you buy.

Do these stores offer same-day delivery?

Some do for in-stock items, DOZY in particular highlights fast turnaround in customer reviews, but confirm timing directly since it depends on your size and stock at the time.

The bottom line

If you want a mattress specialist with the strongest rating in this list, DOZY and Sleep Masters Canada share it at 4.8: DOZY for Toronto-made mattresses, Sleep Masters for trying five major brands side by side. If you’re furnishing a whole room and want everything under one roof, The Brick or Parliament Furniture cover more ground. Whichever you pick, confirm the return window in writing before delivery day.
