Birdsville

3.5/5 597 Google reviews

I purchased a young cockatiel here. I love the variety of everything for birds and small animals. And the many interactive and informative. All the items you need for a bird. Also have both hand-raised and aviary birds. Before purchase, the staff make sure you know enough, and have necessary items for owning.

Pros

  • Variety of products for birds and small animals
  • Interactive and informative environment
  • Hand-raised and aviary birds available
  • Staff ensures customers have necessary items and knowledge for owning birds

Cons

  • Irregular wing cutting of the purchased cockatiel
  • Confusion regarding wing clipping process
  • Lack of clarity on bird care practices

Birdsville was awesome as usual. Staff and food always exceptional at The Birdsville Hotel & Bakery 😎 my favourite holiday venue.

Shouldn’t even consider selling a BONDED pair of Alexandrines separately, that would be tragic for the both of them as have been bonded for 4 years and shows you don’t care AT ALL about the birds, just the dollar value of them. Disgusting. I will be sharing this everywhere I can. KEEP THEM TOGETHER

Wow after reading the reviews and the condescending comments from the owners to negative reviews I’m surprised anyone goes here, not to mention the many injuries caused to peoples pets by these butchers that they take zero responsibility for. I look forward to the owners reply here, probably blame everything and everyone else but themselves….

I bought two fish along with a tank and other accessories for my son. Mylef was a great guy; he explained the whole process very nicely. He was very friendly and had excellent customer service skills. I highly recommend this place. Very professional people.

In summary, Birdsville offers a wide variety of products for birds and small animals, with interactive and informative staff. However, there have been concerns raised about the wing cutting process for birds and the handling of bonded pairs of birds. The customer service experience has been positively highlighted in one of the reviews.

Andrew and Deb are amazing people with genuine care and love of birds. Always happy to share their knowledge when you drop in or call for emergency help and advice. We bought a conure from here a few years ago and get supplies for our birds from them. Lovely, genuine family owned business.

I would highly recommend this pet store. Though I would clarify that it’s mostly a bird store at its core. The owners and workers there are all very helpful and willing to give advice where they can about starting a bird keeping hobby. They sell a very impressive range of birds and accessories as well. It’s definitely a store I would recommend for anyone interested in buying birds and accessories.

  • Willingness to answer questions
  • Variety of birds available

Neat and clean place, variety of birds were there and lady was friendly.

Beautiful place, very friendly staff, lots of variety, you will definitely find what you are looking for, highly recommend this place.

I met Renee who is the pet shop owner and she helped me with the selection of my first pet bird, a young cockatiel. She has got a lot of birds both tamed and aviary, their cages in different sizes and food. Renee also guided me about the usage of wormout gel and the spray to keep the bird healthy and gave me a pack of food for my bird for free.

In summary, Ace Colony Birds is recommended for its caring and knowledgeable staff, variety of birds, and comprehensive selection of bird supplies. The store provides a neat and clean environment with a wide range of birds, making it a top choice for bird enthusiasts.

Go Wild Pets

Natasha is fantastic. She really knows her stuff! Whenever I have questions or concerns she’s able to give fantastic advice. Was buying from pet barn and a few other bird places but have since started buying only from here and it was worth every cent. Great friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and always great prices!

Pros

  • Natasha’s fantastic knowledge and advice
  • Friendly atmosphere
  • Knowledgeable and helpful staff
  • Great prices

Cons

  • Unfriendly and unhelpful staff
  • Poor customer service over the phone

Rude staff, wasn’t interested in even saying “hello” or talking when answering the phone..I said “how are you” all I got back was “good.” Answered my question with a “no, goodbye”…then hung up. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

The people are extremely helpful!! I will just randomly go once in a while to look at the pets. I find the place really relaxing and I recently bought a beautiful cockatiel, he is extremely healthy and being a good friend for my cockatiel girl 😍💕 The price of the cockatiel boy was also reasonable!! I will highly recommend this place. The lady who was helping me was very kind and patient 😊😊

These guys have one of the most reasonable prices and a decently wide range of pet produce. Located near Girraween HS, plenty of on site parking and they also provide those IKEA style trolleys for heavier items.

In summary, Go Wild Pets is highly recommended for its knowledgeable and friendly staff, great prices, and wide range of pet produce. However, there have been concerns raised about the unfriendly and unhelpful behavior of some staff members, particularly over the phone.

Sydney Pets

5/5 20 Google reviews

I promised my daughter a pair of rabbits and needed them urgently (same day). I looked around multiple locations, and barely any pet shops were open. The ones I found were selling 1 rabbit for $200. I found this shop, and the man (Sid) was very helpful and knowledgeable, he helped me secure 2 beautiful rabbits for a fraction of the price and my daughter was super happy when she got home from school to see her new pets. He has a huge range of birds at cost prices as well and all pet needs. I will go back to buy some birds soon. Would recommend this place over all the pet shops in the area. 5 out of 5 !! Thanks!

Pros

  • Helpful and knowledgeable staff
  • Affordable prices for rabbits and birds
  • Huge range of birds and pet supplies
  • Customer satisfaction with the purchase

Cons

  • Misrepresentation of bird age and gender
  • Lack of trustworthiness in sales

Friendly and excellent service, walked away with an extra pet than I’d planned but so worth the drive out there. Highly recommend people go see. Fred aka guinea pig is super cute and definitely will be spoilt the same as my budgies. Thank you so much kind sir 👍

Friendly vet & vet assistant staff, knowledgeable & helpful with my cockatiel’s eye injury. She’s recovered well due to their services. Thank you.

This guy is a liar he sells birds and lies about their age and gender he just sold me a IRN and told me it’s 5 months old male when I had real breeders check the bird they said it’s at least 12 months and it looks like a female don’t trust him when he pretends to be trying to help you out

In summary, Sydney Pets is highly recommended for its helpful and knowledgeable staff, affordable prices, and wide range of pets and pet supplies. Customers have expressed satisfaction with the service and the recovery of their pets. However, there have been concerns raised about misrepresentation in bird sales, which may affect trust in the business.
